Spectacularly equipped, painstakingly designed and conveniently located, Electric Mastering offers sonically opulent, professionally dependable audio mastering in a relaxed, airy and client-friendly environment.

A perfect marriage of state-of-the-art and vintage technology, Electric Mastering can turn analogue or digital studio mixes on any format into fully realised, professional quality CD and vinyl masters.
Whatever the musical genre, Electric will optimise your recordings with sensitivity to the original studio production while guaranteeing a sonic presence that will fully engage the listener.

Electrics specialist mastering engineers have over 20 years experience in the industry, having worked with some of the biggest names in the business, as well as a broad section of independent producers and bands crossing
all music genres.

Equally adept at polishing already capacious recordings as they are maximising and equalising less well cooked production masters, our engineers are thoroughly sympathetic to clients wishes. Whatever your specific requirements or the format of your mixes, Electric offers the expertise and musical sensitivity - not to mention technology - to bring them to full fruition.
Electrics mastering suite is extraordinarily well-equipped. It boasts a rare, early 1970s EMI TG12410 transfer desk that was shipped from EMIs studio in Lagos, Nigeria, where it once helped in the production of records by Fela Kuti and Paul McCartneys Wings.
The only vintage EMI mastering desk currently in use outside of Abbey Road and the only unmodified EMI desk in use in Europe...
...the TG12410 is not an antique - rather it's a classic, representing mastering technology at its peak. Its an extraordinarily versatile piece of apparatus, able to add distinctive colouration even to high-end digital recordings or, contrastingly, offer faithful reproduction of analogue studio masters. Electric takes a purist approach to the desk, favouring simple signal lines with no patch bays to interfere with the clean, unadulterated sonic throughput. In addition Electric also owns
an equally rare valve compressor originally housed at the famous Deutche Gramphone Studios. The Fairchild 670 is the perfect for tool for adding weight and scale to most master recordings.

The studio is equally blessed with up-to-the-minute digital mastering kit, including top end digital limiters, as well as new valve limiters (able to facilitate extremely loud, super-present, records), high end prism sound processors. Monitors are
Meyer X-10s, incorporating cutting-edge technology adapted from avionics. Theses speakers offer a neutral, linear playback sound and were balanced and tailored to the room using laser technology by a specialist sonic analyzer.

As well as an industry standard VMS 70 disc cutting lathe, Neuman amplification and audiophile top of the range CD playback courtesy of a Naim CDS 3, the studio even features a rare 1950s EMI mono 1/4inch tape
recorder as used by the BBC and Abbey Road. Its this blend of the tried and trusted with the ultra-contemporary that helps make Electric a unique mastering facility.

Electric is also able to provide customised Audiofile MP3's through it's state of the art Pyramix digital workstation. With MP3's fast becoming the most relevant format in the modern market place Electric's ...
...engineers are experienced in optermising clients MP3's to achieve sonic excellence.

The studios spatial surroundings are another key factor. An amply proportioned room bathed in natural light, the main mastering suite is a relaxed, unfussy environment in which to work - a meticulous sonic design that makes for neutral, audiophile playback and a clean, positive ambience. Discretely furnished, the main room features
plush seating, reclaimed natural wood floors and even a commanding, somewhat science fiction-like, view of the speeding (but completely silent) traffic on the nearby Westway.

Electric is located within the Westbourne Studios complex, between Portobello Road and Westbourne Park. Ladbroke Grove and Westbourne Park Underground stations are a five minute stroll away. The building houses a fully licensed bar with gourmand food and beverage
facilities, allowing quality refreshment (and pleasant ear-break) time without having to venture outside. The studio is also accessible after office hours and at weekends by arrangement. A parking space will be available on request.

Electric Mastering is able to offer extremely competitive rates that compare favourably with any other major London cutting facility.
